Role Play Sample: Scarlett hadn’t asked or much. Just the same love and compassion the rest of her peers were constantly showered in from their parents. Apparently, that had been far too much, though. Those were among the many luxuries she’d never been granted, and that knowledge-or rather, the burning desire to forget about that for just a few moments, what precisely what had compelled her to reach for the bottle that day, two years ago. It was the same thing that drove her now.
Woozy-eyed and fumbling about, Scarlett grabbed the neck of the bottle of firewhiskey and took an unlady-like swig. And then proceeded to spray it out all over the letter she was clutching in her hand. She’d had too much and she knew it, but that didn’t stop her. When had it ever stopped her? She drank to stop the pain. And when she woke up the next morning, her mouth heavy with the taste of whiskey and shame, she drank to forget that. It was a vicious cycle and it had to stop someday, but not today. Today, she had an excuse. Today, she needed it more than ever before.
She gave a small sob before wiping furiously at her eyes, trying to eliminate any salty evidence of her moment of weakness. Her father was found dead, as the tear-and-liqueur stained letter in her land told her. She didn’t have anyone anymore. Nothing to comfort her, save for the almost-empty bottle in her hand.
